六十年代的香港，范根中医馆在街坊里十分有名，因为范根医德十分高尚，不管有钱没钱，街坊街里能帮就帮。儿子范守望（吴镇宇 饰）亦深得老爸真传，为人十分侠义。一次，好友欠下黑社会巨债，守望为了救兄弟独自一人前往正在发生政变的越南帮助黑帮头子把他在越南的女儿接回了香港。守望的胆识和精明，深得的黑帮头子的女人赏识。随后，守望觉得广州的发展是个好机会，于是和她一起投资在广州搞荔枝园。经常来往广州，守望结识了当地的一个怪人——白活（黄子华 饰）。白活自小就是孤儿，被村里的人捡回来，由于自小无依无靠，白活十分看重友谊，只要是好朋友的忙，赴汤蹈火在所不辞。白活天生记忆力过人，是个数学天才，和守望成为好友后，和他一起来港打天下，两人自信能闯出一片自己的天空。。抗日战争时期，日方搜刮中国大批文物，而这批文物的藏宝图胶片被台湾间谍“宝岛七十二号”（叶子楣 饰）得到，日本间谍猪木（葛民辉 饰）与马场（林海峰 饰）赶赴香港，将七十二号击伤，谁知却惊动了正在表演的一支女子乐队，七十二号在临死前将胶片藏在乐队经理人Trccy（泰迪罗宾 饰）的车上，Trccy报警得以结识女警阿芝（利智 饰）。日本方面怀疑Tcrry亦为间谍，派出猪木马场全天候跟踪调查，与此同时，台湾政府的间谍首领“宝岛一号”（胡慧中 饰）向Trccy说明情况，然而此时Trccy并不知七十二号将胶片藏在何处。阿芝受警方委派，为Tcrry提供贴身保护，令后者心花怒放，而阿芝的真实身份是日本间谍“北海道一号”，群谍现身，最后赢家是谁？。When he learns his days are numbered old count Hervé de Kéraudren decides to hide in a secret alcove and to die there, just to annoy his heirs. As a result of his body not being found the latter will have to wait for five years until they can inherit the count's money. Very upsetting indeed, all the more as they are required to keep up the Kéraudren estate in the meantime. To collect money, nephews and nieces organize a Son et Lumière show at the manor while busily looking for the missing corpse. But, unexpectedly, they get killed in turns. Murders or accidents? Jean-Marie, his fiancée Micheline and his cousin Edwige investigate and finally succeed in exposing the culprit. And, the count's body being found by chance, all goes back to normal.。
