唐朝开元间，古朝鲜新罗国王子金乔觉，因宫廷变故，骨肉相残，母亲惨死。妻子失踪悲愤而离俗出家。为求佛法真传 ，他航海入唐，游历求学，最后，来到九华山开创佛寺，弘扬佛法。他的妻子死里逃生，千辛万苦来到中国，但却是有缘相逢，无缘相依。为了成全金乔觉的事业，她毅然投井殉情。历尽人生悲苦，金乔觉终于达到了他所追求的最高境界，成为人们崇信的“地藏菩萨”，九华山也从此成为佛教圣地。。Dao returns home and finds her fiance in bed with another woman. She shoots them dead on the spot. She is sentenced to 10 years in prison. She gets out eventually and stays with a friend who runs an escort service and learns that women are even caged in the outside world.。
