就读帝丹高中的工藤新一（沟端淳平饰），是拥有过人推理能力的高中生名侦探。他的青梅竹马毛利兰（忽那汐里饰），则是曾经荣获冠军的空手道高手。新一与小兰虽然两心相许，但始终没有表白。有一天，当新一醒来之后，发现身处白色的密闭空间，而小兰就在自己身边，两人还被手铐铐在一起。接着新一又看到小兰的父亲——开设侦探事务所的毛利小五郎（阵内孝则饰），也倒在房间里。三个人完全想不起来为何会被关在这里，后来小五郎找到了一封给新一的信，信中表示这个白色房间是送给新一的礼物。。Anniyan is the story of Ramanujam "Ambi" Iyengar (Vikram), a lawyer who suffers from Multiple Personality Disorder.
