We can witness a tragedy or lay down into the shadows with a feeling that it's not our problem.。电影以战后十年日本霞浦面向的农村作为故事发生的舞台。插秧结束后的农村祭典举行期间，村子里的年轻男子们时兴调戏对岸的少女们。田村次男在一次夜袭对岸的过程中看到了农家默默劳作的千代，对她产生了好感。但次男因为捕鱼的事情和千代的母亲发生了争吵。在那之后，次男和仙吉一起扬帆起航，手无寸铁的二人逐渐驶向了边界线之外钓鱼。。
